Toda was the old capital of Solanki Kingdom, which they ruled till 14th century. After that, it was concurred by famous Raja Man Singh of Amer. Eventually, it was passed on to the Mughals and was later on given to Maharana Pratap’s great grandson - Rai Singh by the emperor Shahjahan. Since then, the area is called as Toda Rai Singh.
